Project Inspiration
GeoJoys’ passion is to explore thoughtful interior design. Purposely selecting design elements which can enhance uplift and create joy.
Inspired by caring for my grandmother, who battles dementia, I witnessed firsthand the impact of hospital design on patient well-being. Through numerous doctor appointments, I observed how the institutionalised and medical aesthetic heightened distress for my grandmother, and inflicted personal emotions of downcast.
Determined to make a difference, I founded GeoJoy to transform hospital hallways and waiting rooms into spaces that bring joy, enthusiasm and happiness. By infusing visual stimuli, vibrant colours, and welcoming textures, GeoJoy creates a whimsical atmosphere that uplifts spirits and promotes warmth.
Inspiration to design samples for hospital waiting rooms and hallways also was developed from research to how hospital design can often be overlooked. Research emphasised how hospitals are more open to altering the design used within children hospital and wards.
This project captivates how there is a market for GeoJoy as it does not discriminate against age. GeoJoy creates cheer for ALL occupants and patients to absorb, and showcases how thoughtful design elements can be enjoyed by everyone and inclusive for all ages.
